As we near our first in-person gathering since the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re encouraging anyone and everyone to read-up and follow the latest CDC guidelines. These guidelines are what we will be encouraging when we all meet together in person. As these guidelines adjust, so will we!
Our Base Safety Actions
Here is what we expect if you choose to attend an in-person church service with us:
Correctly and consistently wear a mask that completely covers your nose and mouth
Stay at least 6 feet away from others who do not live with you
Avoid poorly ventilated indoor spaces
Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (or use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol)
Get tested if you have signs or symptoms of COVID-19, or if you think you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19
Our Mask Guidelines
We encourage all to follow the guidelines laid out by the CDC regarding masks in public spaces…
Encourage use of masks among staff and congregants. Masks are most essential when social distancing is difficult. Note: Masks should not be placed on children younger than 2 years old, anyone who has trouble breathing or is unconscious, and anyone who is incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. Masks offer some protection to the wearer and are also meant to protect those around the wearer, in case they are infected with the virus that causes COVID-19.
Other Guidelines We’re Following
For the time being we will be…
Limiting the sharing of frequently touched objects, such as worship aids, prayer books, hymnals, religious texts and other bulletins, books, or other items passed or shared among congregants, and encouraging congregants to bring their own such items, if possible, or photocopying or projecting prayers, songs, and texts using electronic means.
We will modify the methods used to receive financial contributions. See our Give page for more information on how to donate or give virtually.
Leave it up to you to determine whether physical contact (e.g., shaking hands, hugging, or kissing) can be limited among members of the faith community. We understand many have been vaccinated, so ask before you engage in physical contact with your neighbor.
Using pre-packaged communion cups and wafers for our Sunday communion.
We currently don’t have plans for childcare, as we are meeting all together outdoors for a few weeks before we set up a meeting schedule with Highland Christian Center.
What to do if you do get sick
If you, or someone who has recently attended a church function, gets sick and diagnosed with COVID-19 we ask that you follow the current CDC guidelines regarding self-isolating and alerting those who you may have come in contact with. We encourage you to stay home, take care of yourself, and let church Leadership know about the potential outbreak via the Contact page on our website. You can also reach out to leadership individually to alert them.
With that info saved, we have all we need to meet together this upcoming Month! We’re so excited to see you all. I hope you stay well, and we look forward to meeting with you again soon.
