“Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve…You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”   -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Please join our HOPE Chapter as we partner with United Way for a day of service and giving back to our Portland and Vancouver communities. Each volunteer must sign up by contacting Kelsie or Kelly Joshua at kaybeejoshua@yahoo.com or at 971-235-5940. You may select one of the following projects:

Weatherizing Homes (Community Energy Project) (age 10+):
When: Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 from 8:45am- 2pm
Where: 422 NE Alberta, Portland, OR 97211
What will we do? Participate in “on the ground” work and take pride in helping seniors and people with disabilities weatherize their homes for the winter season. Training will be provided. Wear your blue HOPE t-shirt and bring bottled water and a bag lunch.

NW Litter Clean Up (age 3+):
When: Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 from 9am – 10:30am
Where: 115 NW 22nd Ave., Portland, OR 97210
What will we do? This monthly neighborhood clean up is the perfect opportunity to meet locals, pick up trash and enjoy a cup of coffee. If enough volunteers show up we are able to clean up the entire neighborhood. This is a quick activity that relieves stress and results in lots of thanks from those walking in the neighborhood. Wear your blue HOPE t-shirt and bring bottled water.

Help Remodel YWCA in Clark County (age 18+):
*****PROJECT IS NOW FULL … NO MORE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED*******
When: Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 from 9am-2pm
Where: 3609 Main Street, Vancouver, WA 98682
What will we do? New carpeting will be installed and volunteers will help move furniture before and after the installation. Wear your blue HOPE t-shirt and bring bottled water and a bag lunch.
